| After 10 years of photography, I set out and purchased my own building right off the historical Harrisonville square and made it into my beloved West Elm Photography studio! Huge thank you to my husband Tom for helping with the down payment too even though he dreaded doing it and still does. lol I bought this building in February of 2019 with the help of Lindsay Keller of Crown Realty, who was amazing the entire step of the way!! Funny thing is, several past clients have actually posed right in front of this building because I have always been drawn to the front windows, I always loved the retro feel of it! (see pics) Never did I think I would own this building someday! I found this building to be the perfect size, it had a large backroom that I can use for in-house photography, it also has a shower in case I applied too much bug spray after a session (lol) and has a kitchen for entertaining guests. It's literally perfect! The hardwood floors were already in place, all I needed to do was tear down cabinets, landscape, paint, A LOT of painting (thanks to Mike Philipsheck, he's literally the best) and minor touch ups here and there. My wonderful and amazing step-dad installed a see-thru mirror for my makeup area and it's truly the best thing ever! I almost forgot about the vault, it's a huge room off the lobby and I couldn't decide what to do with and what better than to make that a dressing room, my son Tred's idea (smart kiddo)! I adore my building and it's location and find that I am pretty hidden off the main road, therefore not a lot of people ever see me but that's more my personality anyways, I like attention but don't like attention. Does that make sense? lol Anyways, enjoy the before and after images and tell me what you think! I mean, as you can tell, I'm super proud. :) Thanks for reading, Robin Addleman P.S. Recently I had the privilege of photographing Holly McDowell our 2020 Miss MO Teen USA! This cute girl gets her pictures taken all the time and while I wanted to see her all dolled up in professional makeup, I opted for a very natural look. I knew if anyone could pull off a very natural look it was this young beauty.

Don't be hesitant about getting pictures taken of yourself, the benefits of seeing yourself through a professional photographers eyes is an incredibly helpful part of building an identity that is secure and self-defined.
Seeing yourself through professional photography is different than what you see when someone takes a candid of yourself. There really is an art to posing and candids, well they usually feature us in the most unflattering of poses. Granted we need these candid memories and ALL photos are valuable but we don't always love the way we look in photos and it makes us think, geez, is that how I really look to the world? Again this could be just me because I'm incredibly hard on myself but what I've learned is when you feel good, it doesn't matter how you looked in that candid where you have 6 chins and laughing hysterically. What matters is how you feel, on the inside.
So here's my point/opinion, sometimes you need that extra push to feeling good about yourself and having your hair and makeup done by a professional and then working with a photographer that understands different poses and the art to it can truly help give you the confidence to say to yourself "this is who I am and this is what I look like and I look great!". Don't we all need to feel this way about ourselves? sometimes we need a day to ourselves to reconnect and discover more of our beauty.
Survey I read online (you know because everything online is true) is that 65% of women surveyed said they don't like the way they look in pictures... this is why you need me, to help change that opinion of yourself.
Don't forget, you are worth it, you are worth it right now, whatever chapter in life you are in right now, you are worth it, right now. Don't wait until you lose weight, don't wait until you have a tan...you are worth it right now, as you are! :)

Every year around Christmas time I post my upcoming years senior model applications on all of my social media. Within one week the response was amazing! I read each application thoroughly and then called them in to sit down and chat. After meeting with many upcoming seniors and their parents, I made my decision on an amazing group of 12!

Meet my 2021 wep model team!
I don't know how many of you are like me but I DID NOT love my wedding pictures and a lot of it is my fault.
Could be because I felt rushed the entire day, maybe I didn't like how my makeup turned out or maybe I felt chubby from staying up too late after the rehearsal dinner the night before. Regardless, images bring back feelings and when I look at me in my wedding dress, the feeling that comes back is yuck...plain ol' YUCK...
I spent a lot of money on the most beautiful dress I had ever seen, the venue was perfect, everyone there was happy and having fun and I even had an amazing time but the pictures of me in my dress were not my favorite...not one bit.
HERE'S MY POINT TO THIS POST 😉
WELL...I thought, wouldn't it be amazing if you could get your wedding dress back out, have your hair and makeup done by professionals and then have your pictures taken in a very laid back and relaxing setting? I have talked to many women that have said "YESSSS!" to having a redo!
Granted we are not redoing the wedding day but this is a way of memorializing you and your beautiful gown in a more relaxed way. You can pair it up with a hat, jacket, anything! Be creative, let's have fun with this!

When I asked Makiah where she would like her senior session, she responded with Steak n' Shake and I couldn't have been more excited!! We then set out to gather the perfect outfit that would match the decor and then we headed out! I absolutely love how the pictures turned out, probably one of my all time favorites.

Parker, I will miss you my sweet girl. Thank you for blessing me with your soulful and pure love. I truly believe you did exactly what God intended for you to do in your short 21 years. You crossed my path just at the right time and showed me a love that I never knew existed for me, I've been broken for many many years Parker, before you were even born. In the past year, I have had trouble with believing in God and trouble keeping my faith because everything that had been happening in my life was leaving me feeling helpless and overcome with sadness. I would cried to God over and over, why did you forget about me! Why! Damn you for forgetting about me! My mom always said, talk to God honey, he is listening, well, I felt as if he was tired of hearing from me. Just last week I begged for him to help me, I pleaded for him to please help me and to guide me.
I've learned a lot in your passing and discovered a lot too. I have most importantly learned from your passing that you are proof that God does exist. I have felt you and God in my heart since you've passed and I believe deep down and with all of me that you were one of God's prophet sent to love everyone and especially us broken souls and Parker, I'm witness to your purpose, I will never doubt Gods love again as I look into his most beautiful angels eyes. I'm so glad God sent you Parker Lawrence and I'm so fortunate to have captured you through pictures, I have so many! We had fun didn't we, going back through the pictures has sparked a new love of photography again. Oh Parker, you have given me so much and I know that God is so proud of you, he's probably crying in joy of all the lives you touched and even this old girl, you have made me a believer. I told your dad at your visitation that I will seek God more, I was shaking and he may not have understood my words but I could tell that he knew what I was saying.
Speaking of angels, I look at this picture and I see your heart smiling at me, I see your pureness and I especially see how much you cared about me. I see an angel that walked among us. You are and forever will be my most favorite subject. I love you so much Parker and I will see you again someday...oh and I hope they have cameras in heaven because we've got a lot more photoshoots to do. Love you.

I've recently been bouncing back and forth the idea of my boys modeling and so far, they are both on board. I'm not just saying this but they both have this stare down with the camera that is story telling and mature. It's crazy that they have the "smolder" at age 8...oh boy. lol
