Hello!!
My name is Robin Addleman and I am the photographer behind West Elm Photography! Many ask how I got my name for West Elm Photography and it's quite simple but first no, I did not name it after the furniture store. Even though I do love to shop there! I named my photography 14 years ago while looking at the elm tree in our front yard ... so there you have it, West Elm ... I told you it was pretty simple.
I was born in Grand Prairie, TX with messy long hair that I never brushed, dirty finger nails and bruises all over from climbing trees. If I wasn't climbing a tree or riding my bike through puddles then I was following my mom around while she took amazing pictures of just about everything on her Nikon and then I would sit in awe of her processing the images in our back bathroom. I thought she was(is) just the coolest, her images always had such a story to tell.
Growing up around photography really instilled this passion I have for portrait photography but I didn't realize it for myself until I was blessed with twins in 2010. The time at home and taking nonstop pictures of the boys quickly turned into this obsession to constantly be learning more and more about the art of photography! So here I am 14 years later and still going strong. As I've learned in my years is what I love most about portrait photography is showing my subject just how beautiful they are through my lens, watching a young person evolve right before my eyes with new found confidence is the most rewarding. My main goal in photography is helping to build self esteem in any age but especially in our youth. This is why I do what I do, it's not so much about the images but about the person I see blossom right in front of me.
Thanks for stopping by and reading a little about me, I look forward to meeting you and making amazing portraits together.
