Become a fan of West Elm Photography on facebook and be privy to all the monthly specials. This month I am doing Boudoir pictures and it's just in time for Valentines Day, $50.00 will get you 20-30 edited images on a cd...can't beat that!
Click the image below for a direct link to West Elm Photography on facebook and be sure to like us...you won't regret it. :) I wanted to share that in this business of photography, everyday is a learning process. I've never claimed to be a professional photographer but what I do know is that I love what I'm doing and the finished product puts a lot of smiles on peoples faces. While I enjoy the positive feedback, I also entertain the constructive critism, I'm always striving to be better than I am today.
I read so much about hostility in other photographers and cannot understand why people can be so bitter to another photographer. I must admit I have seen some lousy stuff out there by "photographers" but it's not in my practice to bash these people publically. All I know is that my product is good and I'm very proud of where I am today. Postive thoughts are better for the soul. Don't worry about all the competition out there, just look at it as a time for growth in what you offer. Listen, people will always need photographers so there is plenty of business to go around. Thank God! ha Took the boys in for their 15 month pediatrician appts and to my surprise, the shots they were given didn't hurt a bit! Well, I didn't hear them cry and that is great!
Now I'm home working on my last session, getting all the cd 's ready and the mailers I put them in. It's amazing how much I just enjoy the little stuff related to photography, I love running the business from taking the photos to the printing of the address labels...that I designed of course. :) Happy Friday everyone! I'm looking soooo forward to my Boudoir session on Tuesday, I love making women look glam for photos. Had a group photo session today with a group of 20!! The weather was perfect and the back drop was even better. I am currently taking a break from processing to write this blog. It's funny how excited you get for a shoot and then in the blink of an eye it's all over. I'm glad I get to look through all the photos from the day to smile at.
Here's a pic of the back drop...Gorgeous! I ran across another photographers facebook fan page today and found this on her wall and had to share. I love it!
Wonderful quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson I found this awesome app on my iPhone that chronicles my year in photos. All you do is take one picture a day that lets you remember what you did that day when looking back. It's all stored on this app and then at the end of the year you can print them all for a keepsake. Cool eh?! It's called "My 365" and I love it! Even though this year is 366, oh well. :)
All 3 pictures below were taken with my iPhone4 and edited with Instagram. Today was the first "me" day in quite awhile and not only was the weather 64 degrees in January but I was able to visit a dear friend and have my nails done!!! I feel fanflippintastic!! I love having pretty nails for photo shoots, I honestly feel more relaxed when I can look down at my camera and see awesome painted nails holding it..it's the little things.
Here we are on the 3rd day of the year and I wake up with pink eye! gross! barf!! I have not had pink eye since I was a kid and now in the past 2 months I have had it twice! Friends tell me it's the joy of having your kids in daycare, oh well, I only have them there twice a week!!! New mascara again? that's a plus. :)
So for keeping up with my resoutions I have organized my desk, built 2 ads on bling and google and umm, that's about it. The boys are in daycare today so I have one day to work towards my dream of being where I want to be, business wise, and I'm starting with this here blog then on to promoting myself another way. Stay tuned...someday you'll see the title "studio opening"...I can see it now. :) |
